Anna Wieczorek studied dramaturgy, art history and German literature at Ludwig-Maximilians-University and Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich. Since 2012 she is a PhD student in dance studies at the University of Salzburg. 2012 to 2014 she was part of the FWF research project “Traversing the Contemporary (pl)” (Prof. Dr. Claudia Jeschke/Sandra Chatterjee, PhD.).
Since 2014 she works at the University of Hamburg within the research project “Gestures of Dance - Dance as Gesture. Cultural and Aesthetic Translations in International Co-Productions by the Tanztheater Wuppertal” (Prof. Dr. Gabriele Klein) founded by the DFG, German Research Foundation. She is also an associated member of the research association „Translating and Framing. Practices of Medial Transformations.“ (spokespersons: Prof. Dr. Gabriele Klein; Prof. Dr. Claudia Benthien)
Besides this she works as a freelance journalist and is a founding member of CADAM.
