Anja K. Arend
Anja K. Arend holds a BA and MA in Dance Studies and Musicology from the University of Salzburg (Austria).
She completed her studies with taking part in courses of the MA program Nordic Masters of Dance Studies in Tampere (Finnland) and Copenhagen (Denmark) as well as with a basic education in History and Theology. Currently she is a PhD candidate in Dance Studies at the University of Salzburg. Her research focuses on 19th and 20th century dance history.
Next to her studies she worked at the Derra de Moroda Dance Archives (Salzburg), at ZKM Museum of Contemporary Art, Karlsruhe (Germany), and the Archives of Salzburg’s Musical History. She also writes critics reviews for dance and music for different media.
At the moment she is a teaching assistant (with Prof. Claudia Jeschke) in Dance History for at Anton Bruckner University, Linz (Austria) and a member of the editorial staff at tanznetz.de, as well as part of the project Dance and Migration.
